I was born and raised in Calgary, where hockey has always been part of everyday life.

Like so many players here, my journey started in community hockey—early mornings, cold rinks, and learning that improvement comes from showing up, putting in the work, and earning every step forward. Those experiences shaped not only how I played the game, but how I understood it.

Hockey never left my life. I still play, and I still coach, because staying connected to the ice matters. It keeps me grounded in what players actually need—what works, what doesn’t, and where better training tools can make a real difference.

Outside the rink, I’ve always had a deep passion for design, engineering, and building things that solve real problems. I’ve always enjoyed refining ideas, testing concepts, and improving designs until they work better than before.

Over time, it became clear that my two passions didn’t need to live separately. I wanted to combine the game that shaped me with the mindset of building, testing, and improving.

That’s how BarnBuilt Hockey was born.

Every product we design is influenced by real hockey experience and thoughtful design—built locally, tested hard, and created to help players earn confidence through repetition.

This brand is about the grind, the details, and the pride that comes from putting in the work.
