Tips & Tricks

Small changes. Better reps.

TIP 01

Give every rep a target

Do not just shoot or pass. Pick a target, count successful repetitions or add a time goal so the player knows what success looks like.

TIP 02

Progress one variable at a time

Start with technique, then add movement, speed, pressure or decision-making. Too many changes at once make it hard to know what improved.

TIP 03

Short sets beat sloppy volume

Ten focused reps are often more useful than fifty rushed ones. Reset the puck, reset the body and make the movement intentional.

Basic Drills

Simple drills to build from.

SHOOTING

Five-Spot Accuracy

Choose five target areas. Take five controlled shots at each. Track hits, then repeat and try to improve the score.

Focus: accuracy · release · repetition
PASSING

Receive & Release

Pass into a rebounder, receive the return across your body and immediately pass again. Alternate forehand and backhand receives.

Focus: first touch · timing · puck position
PUCK CONTROL

Three-Gate Hands

Set three obstacles in a line. Move through slowly with control, then repeat with more speed while keeping the puck in a usable position.

Focus: hands · reach · control

These are starter drills. Add your own diagrams, progressions and age recommendations as the Locker Room grows.
