Hockey was the passion. Design was the tool.
BarnBuilt Hockey started in Calgary by bringing those two worlds together—and asking how thoughtful design could make training products and hockey resources better.
Where it started
A company built from something personal.
I did not start BarnBuilt Hockey because hockey needed another brand name. I started it because hockey has always been one of the things I care most about, and design is how I naturally solve problems.
I kept seeing opportunities to make training equipment more practical, more durable and easier to live with. Products could be modular. Parts could be replaceable. Equipment could look premium without becoming precious. Training resources could be useful without being complicated.
That intersection—passion for hockey + passion for design—became BarnBuilt Hockey.
What the name means
The barn is a mindset.
Work before attention
The barn represents the hours nobody sees—the repetitions, experiments, mistakes and improvements.
Built, not branded
We want the product to earn trust through construction, function and support—not marketing claims.
Community over ego
Hockey grows through parents, coaches, teammates, volunteers, rinks and people who keep showing up.

Our home is part of our identity.
Calgary is a hockey city with the Rockies at its back door. It is a place where winter, outdoor ice, community rinks and a practical western work ethic all overlap. BarnBuilt Hockey is proud to be built from that environment.
